In the environmental sector, the UN will support the expansion of inclusive and viable clean energy solutions. By leveraging catalytic funding from the Joint SDG Programme on Just Energy Transition, efforts will focus on improving the availability and affordability of clean energy in both rural and urban areas. Priority will be placed on closing capacity gaps among energy-sector micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) through access to blended finance, practical business development support, and tailored coaching. This work will complement national efforts to develop updated climate pledges (NDCs), contributing to Zambia’s ambitions for affordable and clean energy under the global SDG agenda.
